Consumer-driven demands to reframe farming systems
Non-intensive farming, with low inputs of energy and chemicals can contribute towards maintaining biodiversity in traditional landscapes, has less pollution than intensive farming and can be better for farm animal welfare.
However, these farming systems often struggle economically in competition with modern intensive farming methods. In CODE RE-FARM the partners will research if it is possible to have a system which has the benefits of extensive farming but that is still economically viable.
Alpes Lasers will develop broadly tuneable light sources to be used for milk analysis in modern farming practices, together with Quantared and TUW.
